Taavi Peterson & Üdi

Estonia

Singer and songwriter Taavi Peterson got his first taste of fame in 2007 from the first series of the Estonian version of Pop Idol, coming third, but he decided to turn his back on the shiny pop world. Taavi Peterson & Üdi (meaning marrow in Estonian) was formed in 2008. The band’s plan is to keep their hearts in the 1960s, but minds in the present and make rock music with actual message. Is it possible for one band to change something? That's what they are trying to find out. The guitarist and songwriter Pete Townshend from The Who marked out Taavi Peterson & Üdi's music in one of his lectures saying that he's last discovery in the huge amount of music in internet was an Estonian artist Taavi Peterson. The advisor of the Dalai Laama thinks the song "Tibet Ocean" is one of the best written about Tibet today.
